AN EXPERIMENT OF MARKING THE LIGHT ALCOHOL IN RUSSIA IS PLANNED ON JULY 2024 | TKM - International Consulting
February 28, 2024

The Ministry of Industry and Trade plans to conduct an experiment on labeling certain types of alcoholic products such as ciders, sake, honey fermented drinks, low-alcohol liqueurs and other drinks with an alcohol content of less than 7%.

The initiative is planned to be launched from July 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025 and the draft of the government resolution is published on regulation.gov.ru.

The experiment will be conducted in the anticipation of including the category of soft alcohol drinks in the “Chestny Znak” National Track and Trace Digital System which is aimed to control the counterfeit spread.

Therefore, conducting this experiment on labeling low-alcohol beverages is an important step in development of consumer’s safety and protecting legitimate producers. Taking such measures will help to control illegal manufacturing and circulation of counterfeit drinks.

Along with this TKM International Consulting reminds the importers that a number of products entering Russia must be marked as well as the locally produced ones. It is necessary to follow the requirements issued by the Federal Customs Service, which are different for the EAEU and other countries.
